Prior to purchasing this product, I read the reviews written by other customers. I wanted some reassurance because I had never heard of Transcend. Some of the reviews made me worry about the quality and reliability of this Transcend SDHC card and the compact card reader. Before I purchased this product, I took a look at the manufacturer's website. When the product arrived in the mail, I immediately used the card reader to download images from the SanDisk 4GB SDHC card that I had been using in my new Canon camera (Canon PowerShot SD880 IS). I inserted the card in the Transend card reader, plugged the reader into my Mac computer (PowerBook G4), the Canon browser utility immediately recognized it, and the download was fast and without any problems. Then, I inserted the new Transcend 8 GB card into my camera and snapped a couple shots of my messy desk. No problems with the card. The tiny USB card reader fits into a camera case. This is an Excellent product with the 8 GB memory card. It makes it all so portable when you take pictures on the run, can pull memory card, put in reader, insert into laptop/computer or other app and view pictures.

I purchased this 8GB SDHC for my ASUS eee 1000HA to backup all my files. 8GB is plenty enough for my use, but others may need larger capacity. Transcend 8GB comes with FREE card reader for USB connection. In sum:
1. For my eee 1000HA, this SDHC card functions as backup drive that remains in the slot. But you could use it for many other multimedia electronics (i.e., digital camera).
2. The card was fast in transferring my files and documents. It is far better and faster than burning in CDs or DVDs.
3. Extra bonus: FREE card reader. The card reader works fabulously. For those machines that do not come with the SD reader built in, this portable reader is essential. BOTH XP and eeebuntu 2.0 (modified Ubuntu 8.10 for eee series netbooks) recognized the reader and I was able to BOTH read and write into the card. The orange led light let you know that the reader is "on" & working.
So if you are looking for a basic, inexpensive but dependable SDHC card, I highly recommend this product, especially it comes with FREE reader.

The Transcend 8GB memory card and reader are perfectly priced to provide ample storage at lot cost. The SDHC card reader was a great addition as my computers internal card reader wasn't able to read SDHC cards.
Using with a Canon Rebel XSi and I love it.

Purchased this to primarily use in my Canon XSi. Have also used it in my Panasonic TZ-5. Found write speeds to be very fast, which translates into shorter lag time between shots. I have found the card reader to be very useful. I prefer not to plug my camera into the computer, so I use the reader with all my flash cards. Fast transfer speeds during upload.
