Digital camera reviews of Transcend TS16GSDHC6 16GB SDHC card (SD 2.0 SPD Class 6)Digital camera Review: Simply didn't work - a disappointment Summary: 1 StarsI read a lot of positive reviews about this card, and I was excited about having 8 more gigs to increase the capacity of my Creative Zen Mp3 player.
Unfortunately, when I received the card, I didn't have an immediate use for it, so I didn't check it out right away. I let it sit around for about two months.
This weekend I went to use it, and it wasn't recognized by either the Zen or the computer. I've tried several tests to see if the problem was on the end of the computer/mp3 player, but the issue seems to be with the card. It must be a dud.
I have to dig up my receipt and see if I kept any packaging. it's too late to return this to Amazon, so I'll see what Transcend has to offer, if anything. It's disappointing to not be able to rely on such a purchase when I most needed it. Now I probably have to go to a local shop and see if I can find something that compares, although I know it will be hard to get as good a deal for this much storage.
**** UPDATE *****
It's been a couple weeks since I tried using this card. On a whim, I decided to try it again, and this time it worked - my computer found it and so did my mp3 player! Strange! I'll cross my fingers and hope it continues to work after this. It would be a shame to start storing a lot of music or other files on it and then lose it all.
Digital camera Review: Lots o' Love Summary: 5 StarsLots of room on this little card and I will be using it on my 3 months in the Middle East in the Spring. I have several other cards that will fit, it turns out, but this one will be my main stash.
Digital camera Review: Fantastic volume of storage, reasonably prices Summary: 5 Stars8GB is larger than the hard drive space on my college computer (from 10 years ago) and this is infinitely lighter!
I shoot semi-professional photography and my RAW image sizes are quite large (approximately 22MB). This is the perfect size to keep me shooting for a long time before having to switch out. I also have a 16GB version, which I am often hesitant to use because on a shoot, it's considered to risky to put all of your eggs in one basket. Shooting with three or four 8GB cards has been an ideal set up. The class 6 speed cards allow me to shoot unfettered of stop and "write" time.
This card holds a ton of information, costs relatively little (with the price dropping each month), and writes as fast as anything out there. I've never had any negative issues. If your, DSLR accepts HDSD cards (double check first), then you will want this card.
Digital camera Review: Recommended! Summary: 5 StarsI don't have much to say... this is a high capacity card for a great price. Totally recommended!
Digital camera Review: Huge storage for my Digital Camera Summary: 5 StarsI have a Canon Powershot (this works in both SD1000 & SD1100) and this works like a charm in there. At standard 640x480 it says it registers more than 9,999 shots...
Didn't work with my older laptop's SD card reader, but a $6 USB card reader adaptor solved that (definately recommended).
Love the number of shots that fit on this & will fit about an hour of movie taken on the camera too. Can recommend this without any hesitation.
