The Isobar is a much better built alternative to the run-of-the-mill powerstips available at most electronics stores. Not only is it a very good surge protector, but it will also help filter and isolate your components which can sometimes help performance.
If you've ever noticed a "pop" through your speakers when an appliance in your house turns on, or if you sometimes get a humming noise, the Isobar will most likely solve that for you. It is a much better solution to a ground loop than using a cheater plug (which is not always safe). Plus the line fault indicator might point out a problem you never knew you had in your wiring.
Can't beat it for the price, and can't beat it for much more than the price. A great pickup for the home or office.

I've been buying Tripp Lite Isobars for years. They have all been well-made and, as far as I could tell, provide the advertised level of safety for your electronic equipment. Never really had it tested -- who really wants to know? I don't know what some of the more expensive protectors offer, but I am fully convinced Tripp Lites offer as good protection for equipment for a very decent price. The best features on this particular model is not only the 8 outlets but also the 12-foot cord.Digital camera Review: I'll give it 5 stars for protection I hope I'll never need.

I like these. They are substantially more expensive compared to other surge strips, but these are built like a tank and leave the impression they won't cause your house to go up in flames if something goes wrong. The case is metal, they are heavy, and appear to use quality components. I have most of my computers and home entertainment devices plugged into these, and have never had a problem.
