I purchased 1 of these several years ago and it really simplified the cobble job the DSL installation guy did. I cut out his mess and ran all my main floor Cat5 DSL lines to this patch panel. Then I used 24" patch cables to connect each to my 8 port Router Switch. Still working flawlessly 3 years later. Now I am buying a second one to tie in my DSL lines from my newly finished basement. The patch panels will allow me to select which eight jacks I want to make active through my router switch without rewiring. Makes my Furnace room wall look nice and neat without a huge rat's nest of cables.Digital camera Review: Great patch panel for home network

I fully renovated our new house, and in doing so ran cat5 to all the rooms to the basement. I punched down the wiring to this patch panel and mounted it in a distributed wiring box. The panel was easy to use with a punch down tool for me who had little experience doing so & it was well labeled so I didn't have to keep referencing printouts for wiring diagrams. Plus the price was right!
