Digital camera reviews of Tripp Lite U026-016 USB2.0 16-Feet Certified Active Extension CableDigital camera Review: So far so good.... Summary: 4 Stars
I used two of these to set up my PS3 move in the home theater room. The lines had to be run up into the attic from the equipment closet at the back of the room, across the attic and down an exterior wall.... It took some effort and a little help from my Master Electrician brother, but the cables are working perfectly. I have had them for about a month and all is well. Great product, arrived within 3 days of ordering and I just used regular shipping.
Digital camera Review: Solved wireless problem Summary: 5 Stars
My home office is a restored vintage travel trailer 70 feet from the main house. The wireless access point is in the house, and I was having trouble getting enough signal through the aluminum walls of the trailer. I knew I would have to run a USB extension outside for the Netgear WG111US Wireless G Usb Adapter, so I came to Amazon to see what was available. When I saw this powered USB cable and read the good reviews and reasons to use a powered cable, I decided to try it. I like the heavy quality of the cable itself, but the plastic pod housing the powered extension end feels a bit flimsy where the halves join in the middle. I wrapped it with a neat turn of electrical tape just for my own peace-of-mind.
I plugged in the wireless adapter to the extension end and ran the whole thing out the window. Instantly I had excellent full-strength signal. I created a weatherproof permanent installation for it under the roof of the trailer's porch deck, as I doubt either the cable or the adapter are rated for outdoor use!
Silly Fun Bonus: The cable has a red power-indicator LED in the extension end; together with the flashing blue LED of my wireless adapter, it looks like a tiny police car is sitting on the roof of my office at night. :)
I am very satisfied with this product and plan to buy another to extend the range of my webcam.
Digital camera Review: The Perfect USB 2.0 Extension Cable Summary: 5 Stars
I haven't had much time to mess with it yet but it seems to work great right out of the packaging. I'd highly recommend this product. I got it mainly so I could use it with my PS3 and it seems to work great! It had a nice snug fit when I plugged my controller USB cable into it, so you don't have to worry about the two USB cables coming apart, and my controller immediately started charging. I was also able to navigate the XMB on my PS3 just fine. I still have to test it with my Logitech racing wheel, which is the main reason I got it. I've uploaded some more relevent product pictures for everyone because the first one is way off.
Digital camera Review: The Tripp Lite only works at USB 1.0 standard Summary: 2 Stars
I wanted to use the Tripp Lite active extenion cable to move my Linksys USB wireless adapter to a differnt location in the room. First I used a standard usb 16ft cable I had download speed of 18-54Mbytes. Then I added the Tripp Lite active extenion cable, I only got 1Mbytes/sec transfer rate, which is USB 1.0 standard and not the USB 2.0 standard
Digital camera Review: The one you need for tethered shooting with your DSLR Summary: 5 Stars
After trying several others that did not work, this is the first USB extension cable I've found that allows an extension of tethered shooting abilities for my Nikon D300. The extra 16' is exactly what I needed and it works the same as if just the manufacturer-supplied cable was the only one plugged in.
