Digital camera reviews of Tripp Lite U026-016 USB2.0 16-Feet Certified Active Extension CableDigital camera Review: Just what the doctor ordered Summary: 5 Stars
This USB cable is worth every penny I am using it on a wireless usb adapter and I am able to place it in a 16ft radius around my computer so I am able to get the wireless connection I need in my basement. The only thing I might want to add is that the pic of the cable is nothing like the cable I got on the female end it shows a round knob looking deal mine just looks like a rectangle box with rounded corners. Not a big deal. Other than that the cable works GREAT.
Digital camera Review: Lack of! Summary: 1 Stars
I'm sure this product works great... However... I never received it! I ordered it a month ago so I'm pretty sure I child on a tricycle could have delivered it by now but no go. Would have been really helpful on the studio shoot I'm doing for the next three days. So... I review has to remain that the picture on the screen is really nice and you better like it because that's all your going to get
Digital camera Review: PERFECT!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Even though I did not recieve exactly the one pictured, I did recieve the correct item as far as the part number. I used it to extend to my Epson R1800 photo printer, about a total lenth of 37 feet (including this active cord) andworked PERFECT right from the start!!! I read one other review that claimed this cord did not work at 2.0 but only 1.1, mine Does work at 2.0 speed. My "OLD", well used and I mean VERY well used Sony Vaio computer had no trouble loading this cord as a "gen" hub and the printer was found instantly even with this junk operating system, "VISTA". I would recomend this cord, works GREAT!!!
Digital camera Review: PRODUCT BROKE DRIVE USB INTERFACE Summary: 1 Stars
BEWARE OF POSSIBLE, PERMANENT DEVICE DAMAGE WHEN USING THIS EXTENSION CABLE. I connected product to my Dell Inspiron E1705, which successfully recognized it as a new hub device. I then connected a working external disk drive to the extension. The drive was not detected by computer. Same result when connecting a Flash/Thumb drive. Removed extension cable.
Had to reboot computer (hard shutdown) to recover USB plug-and-play functionality that had temporarily been blocked by using the extension cable. Now found that my external drive gives an unrecoverable error when I connect it to computer. Attempts to replace driver (which was simply the Windows default for such devices) were unsuccessful (and unnecessary). After the reboot, other USB devices (including the Flash/Thumb drive) once again were correctly recognized with no other problems. Since subject drive also possesses a Firewire interface, I tried this and was able to use the drive normally. Disconnected drive and tried again with various USB ports on computer and various USB A/B cables. Same result as before.
Conclusion: This active extension cable not only fails to work, it also can permanently damage the USB interface in your external disk drive.
