I bought this long USB cable to use with my laptop and shoot tethered with my Canon 5D Mark II camera. It's beautiful. Pictures go right from my camera to the computer and show up seconds after on my laptop screen. It's an awesome way to shoot in a studio environment. This cable is well constructed and seems like a quality cable. I was able to sync my iPad over the cable without a problem. It doesn't, however, power the iPad even when it is plugged into the back of a new iMac. I am nearly positive this is due to the active nature of the cable. It isn't a knock against the cable as I didn't really expect it to power the iPad in this configuration anyway. I just wanted to post the review here because I didn't see any related to the iPad and wanted to give an indication of how it worked when i tried it. I still give the cable 5 stars because it does everything I really expected it would and seems well made.Digital camera Review: Quality Product

For the price I see places like best buy and walmart charging for standard USB cables, this is an absolute gem at [...]. I use it in my photography studio to shoot tethered without having to constantly move my computer around with the camera, and it works like a charm for that purpose. No noticable lag because of length, and its built pretty solidly. Can't yet speak for longevity, but I'll definitely be picking up more in the event I need them.Digital camera Review: Quality product

I am using this to extend the usb printer connection to my computer, after trying unsuccessfully with a lower cost active extension cable that I purchased elsewhere. The generic cable I tried first had near constant communication errors, making it essentially unusable. After several weeks of use, I have had no problems or error messages with the Tripp Lite cable. It seems well made. I should have purchased a quality product first.
