This is a great portable mini hard drive, very easy to use. It's definitely plug and play. You can put it in your pocket, it doesn't take up alot of space. Glad I purchased it as a gift to my spouse for his mini laptop. He is definitely enjoying it. Because my spouse's mini laptop came with only 250 gigabyte hard drive, adding the 500 gigabyte mini portable drive gives him plenty of space to download his music, save his games and do anything else he needs to do without clogging up is mini laptop. Drive was delivered quickly and in excellent condition. Runs well and is just a little warm during operation. Do not leave it in travel case that is supplied, while in use, as it gets very hot! I would rate this at 5 stars, but the software is a little buggy under Windows 7. The encryption software seemed to install, but then had trouble recognizing the encrypted partition after removing and reattaching the device. Even when launching the software, it couldn't recognize the encrypted partition. After multiple failed attempts, I had to delete and repartition it without the NTI software.
The drive functions very well and is quiet. The hardware is great, the software leaves something to be desired. At least, that's the case when running Windows 7.

It's amazing how technology progresses. This 500GB drive is so small, about the size of an iTouch or about 1/4 deck of cards. So you can carry it in a shirt pocket easily enough. The unit appears well constructed, and it comes with a nice slip-on case which will still allow it to fit in your shirt pocket. The drive was well-packaged and came much sooner than expected. Easy to install and use. I gave it four stars for reliability only because I haven't played with it long enough to render a fair assessment. I'm thrilled with this, and you will be, too. Less expensive than a bunch of flash or thumb drives; I use it to house all my media files and backups. As the amount of those grows, I'm sure I'll be getting another soon.Digital camera Review: I do not like it
