Digital camera reviews of URC RFS200 PowerPak Bundle w/ MasterControl RF20 and PowerBlasterDigital camera Review: Excellent remote Summary: 4 Stars
First, the ergonomics are great! The design is more than a year old, so the pre-programmed device numbers were not perfect for all of my devices, but they were pretty close. All gaps were easily filled using the "learn" mode. I especially like the FAV channel option. The backlight is weak, so intuitive ergonomics are important.
My research showed that the current devices that can be programmed via computer cost >4x. I was recommended an $800 remote several times but got this whole package for $75 ($90 inc tax & shipping).
I wanted to buy a second RF20 for downstairs setup, but I have the same model of settop box in both locations and I'm using the RF-PowerBlaster upstairs. So I bought the MX-500 (highly reviewed) for downstairs since it didn't have the RF feature (I could only imagine the frustration of watching my channels flip by upstairs while my wife channel surfed downstairs). I wish the RF20 had the option to turn off the RF like the MX-350. Then I could clone them and not have to reprogram 40 favorite channels and their names by hand again! I probably should have just purchased two MX-350s... but oh well...
For the price, I highly recommend! Once I get and use the MX-500, I'll post another review.
Digital camera Review: Excellent solution Summary: 5 Stars
We have been struggling with how to get the eyesore of all our stereo/video components out of site of the television. This product allowed us to store the components in a nearby closet and clear up the clutter in our living room and family room. Wonderful solution and works fine. We are using two of these items in the home on different floors and have not encountered any interferrence issues at all. Very happy.
Digital camera Review: Excellent, But Learning Curve Required for Programming Summary: 5 Stars
With all the devices in our homes these days, a universal remote control is a wonderful thing to have. The RFS200 PowerPak is a great system! It will handle the control of just about every common home audio/video system you could imagine and reduce all of those remotes into this one unit. And, with RF (radio frequency) transmission of the remote control signals, your equipment can be hidden but still be controlled by this unit.
Programming the remote is logical, but does require some time, planning, attention to details and a slight learning curve. However, once you have figured out the basic logic behind the programming steps, and once you have gone through a few of the steps, it becomes easier. Just bear in mind that you will need to spend some careful time programming the unit, and be at least somewhat comfortable with the basic remote control commands. In summary, be prepared to spend some time getting the remote programmed.
Also of note, it will take a little time to get used to the new remote once it is programmed. For example, you can program certain buttons to work only after the button has been held down for a few seconds. This may take some getting used to, especially if you have other members of your family who need training on the new remote.
Once programmed correctly, and once you get a feel for the programmed buttons, you will LOVE this remote control system. All of your other remotes can be put away forever.
In my opinion, although I am a "techie" and enjoy these kinds of products, the long-run benefits of this wonderful universal remote control GREATLY outweight any minor concern or confusion you might have about getting it programmed correctly.
Digital camera Review: Fantastic Remote ! Summary: 4 Stars
This universal remote control is wonderful because of its ease of programming, versatility of programming, customization options, and especially its ease of use. Now, throw in the fact that it can work on radio-frequency and work very well, this makes it an absolutely fantastic remote!
One bad thing - the IR Emitter plugs are not universal, they are smaller in size than normal IR emitter jacks found on other brand emitters. So if you should need to replace any, it would have to be through Universal Remote Controls.

Bought 2 of these remotes after looking at Logitech. Logitech had the software going for it but also had the price to match. Was able to program this unit the old fashioned way of of using codes and teaching, but was worth it for the money saved. Utilizing the RF powerblaster has been a real plus. Haven't noticed much of a delay if any.
