Digital camera Review: A cute little webcam

I have had this item for about a week. It was well packaged. It worked right out of the box on my computer, a Dell Windows-7 Ultimate 64-bit using an Intel i7-920 CPU with an AMD-ATI Radeon HD 4800 series video card.
The webcam has a microphone built in, and it worked just fine. I also have used my own separate microphone with it, and it plugs into the sound card separately. I have used it in video calls with both Logitech Vid HD software and Yahoo Messenger.
For such a small price, I have been able to connect with relatives and friends on video calls. I am impressed with the technology. It is about 5 inches high, and about 2 inches wide. It has 3 LED lights on each side of the camera and the LED-light control is on the cable. The cable also splits into an USB connector for the video and a 1/8th inch audio stereo connector. The cable is about 6 feet long. I am able to position it to suit several positions and lighting conditions. It adjusts to many lighting conditions and seems to have auto-focus. I have only used it where I was about 2-3 feet from the camera.
The mount is able to adjust the position of the camera with the wing-nut type adjustment. It is not a super high resolution camera, but it is a fine basic camera if you just want to do some video calling.
As far as software, it comes with no programs, so you have to use existing software you have. I was able to download several programs to use with it. By simultaneously using both:
(1.) the free version of "Debut Video Capture v1.49" to display resizeable video from the webcam on the screen, and
(2.) the free version of "Webcam Video Capture, v4.8" to capture the screen, I was able to capture myself in a video, and use a separate video editor to edit/modify the captured video, save it to disk and then upload it to Facebook.
All things being equal, I can recommend this as a fun little item that is worth the money I paid for it. I hope you might have fun with it too.
