When I hooked up the switch to my Comcast HD cable box and turned on my Insignia 32" LCD TV, the HD channel I selected had a fair picture, but instead of filling the entire screen it seemed to be only about half the size it should be. There was also no sound. When I pushed the button to switch over to my PS3, there was no image at all but I could hear it. Bought from CE Compass and received the part within 5 days of order. It works as well as expected, with small delay in switching from source 3 to source 1 when source 3 is powered off. I am using it without the remote and without external power to switch between Panasonic DVD player and Dish STB. No problems. Pleased by its performance so far (2 weeks of use).

We lived without a switch for a LONG time waiting for the prices to come down and i'm so glad that when we made the purchase, that we chose this one. It's so seemless, just as it claims. Turn on the DVD player and it plays - turn it off and it goes back to TV. No cable switching anymore!!! I have a two year old LCD projection HDTV that only has one HDMI port. I needed/wanted to run the video from my new Panasonic BD-35 Blu-ray player and the Dish Network HD box to the TV. With only the one HDMI port the solution (since I love my HDTV) was a HDMI switch box. This little gem works just as advertised without a power supply. It senses the the video component power on and automatically switches to the correct source. I was not sure if it would work since there is a constant feed (input) from the satellite box even in standby mode but when you turn off the programming and turn on the Blu-ray player it switches perfectly on it's own! There is a remote backup and you can switch the inputs manually but it's working great on it's own, switching back and forth automatically. I was very unhappy with this unit. My cable box works through this unit with no trouble. But the Blu Ray will not work trough it. I tried putting the Blu Ray in port 1 and the cable box in port 2. I tried different port configurations. I tried turning the cable box off and unpluging it. No good. The only way to use my Blu Ray is to not use the unit and plug it right into the TV. I guess I will have to try another switch.
