Digital camera Review: It's good enough.

I completely agree with D. Maus's review. I echo his sentiments exactly. This camera case is "good enough" if you're not willing to shell out hundreds of dollars for the professional underwater case that is meant to go with your camera.
This is a very basic, plastic (with a velcro seal) cover for the camera. I have an SD1000 and the case is really too big for my camera. The camera kind of rolls around in the too-big case. Underwater, you really had to spend time positioning the camera into the case. And often times, once it was centered properly, the ring does block the flash. Plus, it just really hard to be underwater and figure out the positioning logistics for the camera. (where is the camera, where is the ring, is the flash covered, etc) With aquatic life being what it is, you've probably missed the shot by the time you get everything in order. I also used this while scuba diving (a shallow dive, only 25 ft under) and the lower you go, the harder it is to position the camera in the case, or change any of the camera settings. The plastic gets really tight around the camera, making movement and adjustments near impossible. I tried stuffing tissue on either side of the case to position the camera as suggested, but it was a pretty pathetic effort. I still had trouble. If I gave up and tried to just point and shoot, I ended up with lots of black ring marks in my photo from the case.
All in all, this is an okay solution if you want to take underwater pictures and save yourself some cash. It's reusable, so I'm sure I will get my money's worth. Since I already bought it, I will continue to use it. Although, in a perfect world, I'd have the extra cash to just buy the case meant for my particular camera. :D
