I bought this scanner to replace and old one and I didn't realize what I was missing this has much more reception than the old one( which also was a bearcat). Easy to set-up since I was familiar with scanners. The only thing that doesn't work is the TV reception which I knew it wouldn't because of the switch to digital TV.
The price was also alot cheaper than I found at local stores. Would definitely recommend it.Uniden 100-Channel Clock Radio Scanner

Great basic scanner! Had a 20+ year old Bearcat...this one is much smaller and lighter. Very easy to program. Audio is very good, and the "backlight" option provides good visibility of the channel that is being broadcast. Not for those wanting advanced features like "trunking", but for basic Police, Fire, EMS and Air, this unit is hard to beat. I NEED TO FIND OUT WHO CAN SET THIS UP FOR ME; I WAS UNABLE TO GET IT TO SCAN. IT WAS A GIFT FOR MY DAUGHTER AND SON N LAW--MY DAUGHTER JUST GRADUATED WITH A MASTERS DEGREE(ALREADY HAS HER BACHELORS); WE JUST CAN NOT GET IT TO SCAN. WHO CAN SET THIS UP FOR US OR HELP? IF WE CAN NOT GET IT TO SCAN WHAT IS THE RETURN POLICY??? SHE NO LONGER HAS THE BOX FOR IT--I HAVE ONE AND IT IS PROGRAMMED AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH OURS. WE ARE NOT DEALING WITH UNEDUCATED PEOPLE--DIRECTIONS DON'T SEEM TO WORK! VERY DISSAPOINTED - PAID OVER $100 FOR AN ITEM WHICH ISN'T WORKING.
