Digital camera reviews of Uniden BC72XLT Handheld Scanner (Black)

Digital camera Review: Best scanner for the price.
Summary: 5 Stars

My son loves his new scanner! You could never find them in local stores with this quality for the price!

Digital camera Review: Better than expected
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this as a gift for my dad for Father's Day-he needed a new scanner for the Nascar races we go to each year.
I think it's almost better than the one he gave me!
We haven't used it yet - next race isn't until Labor Day weekend, but just by testing it out, it seems like a great scanner. It's sleek and easy to carry around, and if you don't have earphones, the speaker on the scanner itself works really well.
Great product for a great price!

Digital camera Review: Davey's Scanner Review
Summary: 5 Stars

The Uniden BC72XLT Handheld Scanner is the first scanner I have ever owned. It performs better than expected. I say this because living in a mountainous area the distance the scanner picks up a signal has been excellent. I'm also pleased that I opted for the handheld. I had no idea I would be wanting to listen to a scanner so much. The size of this handheld makes it very easy to carry around. I use rechargeable batteries which have held a charge better than expected. (I rarely turn the scanner off.) Price was also very reasonable.

Digital camera Review: Decent Scanner for Small Bucks, Limited Frequencies
Summary: 3 Stars

Quite frankly, the only reason I purchased this is my two Radio Shack scanners with "Signal Stalker", had that feature cease working on both. I had both repaired once under warranty, then the second one, again under warranty. The Pro 97 SS stopped working again and they wanted $20 to send it to repair before they would tell me how much it would cost to fix. So, I just bought this scanner for it's "Close Call" feature, which is RS's "Signal Stalker". Only after I had it in the cart and paid for it did I realize it did not cover anything above the 400 band. Mistake on my part. Given around here in my rural setting the police, fire, and sheriffs do nothing in the trunking, or higher frequencies, it is fine for the car. I will say this, it is louder than any of my other scanners. No CSTSS, limited frequencies and only 100 channels, which does not even take all the business band possibilities. The Close Call feature, works no better than on the RS scanners, and is hard to program. Good back up or for the car. You get what you pay for. I thought a Uniden would be substantially better. Who knows? Maybe it won't break.

Digital camera Review: Does't pick up squat
Summary: 1 Stars

I am a firefighter and bought this scanner to listen to other stations. The scanner never picks up any chatter on any of the setting i.e. police, air, fire or marine. The other day I received a fire call, my scanner was sitting right next to my pager and didn't pick up the call. The scan mode stops on blank channels all the time no matter where I have the squelch set. I am very disappointed in this scanner.
