Digital camera reviews of Uniden BC72XLT Handheld Scanner (Black)

Digital camera Review: Easy to program!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a ham radio operator and suffered through the confusing owner's manual for my Yaesu FT60 (in fact, I needed LOTS of help to pragram it!). In getting a handheld scanner, I did NOT want to suffer again. This scanner is easy to program. The manual itself is not well organized, but once you find your area of interest, the instructions are step by step. This is a good deal!

Digital camera Review: Easy to use
Summary: 4 Stars

Bought a Uniden 100-channel portable scanner. It works great and is easy to use and program. Price was lowest on the web.

Digital camera Review: Easy to use basic scanner!
Summary: 5 Stars

I just received this today and within 10 minutes I had programmed my favorite frequencies and was listening to the tower at Washington National airport! I was nervous about the ease of use after reading some of the reviews but honestly, if you read the instructions it is very easy to program. Sure you need push 3 buttons, but surely that shouldn't be a problem. The biggest surprise for me was that I actually received the comms from National airport's tower loud and clear (both the tower and airplane communications) and I'm 25.28 miles away according to Mapquest. I plan on buying a better $20 antenna and I can only imagine how much better this thing will be.
I am having some problem figuring out how to tune into a specific frequency without programming into one of the banks but I'm sure it's some stupid thing that I'm overlooking. I dropped off one star because of this and because you do need to push a few more buttons when 1 or 2 would suffice but this is not a problem at all if you read the booklet it comes with. Great scanner for a first time user!

Digital camera Review: Easy, Addicting, Exciting, Surprising!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this scanner to use at the Bristol Night race in August 2006. I fully expected this unit to do well as a race scanner, but was pleasantly surprised to find out it is a tiny powerhouse of excitement! I turned it on and easily scanned right into the local police bands and immediately got into some action! Then I scanned the "air" frequencies, and got some air chatter from a small "shuttle" plane coming into Tri Cities Regional Airport.

I thought I would only use this twice a year at the track...little did I know I would find a new hobby.

Forget these people that say it's hard to figure out. I was up and running in 5 minutes tops. It's a BREEZE and is very intuitive. 5 stars all the way!

Digital camera Review: Excellent scanner
Summary: 5 Stars

I have owned this scanner for over two months. It's sensitivity, scanning speed and clarity are outstanding. I have dropped this scanner many times on concrete and other hard surfaces thinking it is now broken....it was sill perfect. I recommended this scanner to my friends who have now purchased one for themslves. Everyone is impressed.
I would recommend MAHA 2700 maHr rechargable batteries for the best performance and dependability.
I have no complaints about this scanner.
Uniden now has a carrying case for this scanner which I would also recommend.
