Digital camera reviews of Uniden BC92XLT Bearcat Handheld ScannerDigital camera Review: Very Difficult to use Summary: 2 StarsThis product is not for novices. The labeling on the buttons is extremely confusing. The instructions are not written for the layman either.
Digital camera Review: Great Scanner Summary: 4 StarsI found this scanner easy to use. I was capturing police calls in my area within 15 minutes of turning it on. The service search feature is super since you don't have to program the channels. Just search the POLICE band and when you get a call push a couple buttons and this frequency is now in scanner memory. Heck, I have been listening in search mode and catching alot of action all around DFW. Of course once you find and store all the channels you can enter scan mode which is faster and you wont miss any action. I am a novice scanner user and recommend this product.
Digital camera Review: Not for the technologically challenged Summary: 3 StarsThe manual that comes with this is far too difficult for the average person to understand. Even though I have a master's degree in English, I still can't figure out how to use this product. Buyer beware!! Perhaps when my grandchildren come to visit, they can show me how it operates.
Digital camera Review: works fine Summary: 5 StarsI've had this scanner for a few weeks now and it works fine. I had a scanner previously so I had little trouble entering frequencies and otherwise getting it to work. It's small, but the sound is very good and it picks up signals well, in this mountainous area.
Digital camera Review: BC92XLT Great little radio that does it all Summary: 5 StarsI've been listening to "police & fire calls" for over 30 years now. Times have changed, now you can listen in on much, much more. And this little radio can do it all. From NASCAR, to airplanes, Coast Guard, HAM's, public service, hospitals just about anything (NO celluar however). If you haven't used a scanner before, just read the instructions manual. This uses 2 AA batteries and comes with a charger, antenna belt clip and manual. Need your local frequencies? Just do an internet search, you'll find them. I like this radio so much that I bought a second one to keep in the car.
