Digital camera Review: Bad call quality--phone returned
Summary: 1 Stars

I had this phone for about 3 weeks and then returned it. I really wanted to like it. It had a good display, keypad numbers that light up, and a voice mail indicator light. Unfortunately, the call quality was just poor. Everything sounded crystal clear on my end, but to the people I called I sounded muffled and sometimes choppy. On several occasions they couldn't hear me at all for a couple seconds. Twice the phone dropped calls completely. Another thing I didn't like was the size. Holding it for longer calls gave me hand cramps. If you do buy this phone, consider getting the headset for long phone calls.

Digital camera Review: Best cordless I've had in years
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this system!

There are only two minor flaws, and everything else is A+... For some reason the Intercom/Find function beeps at the unit you're dialing from as well as the one you're calling. This means you have to get away from that one to hear & find the other one. Also, the battery gauge is like some gas gauges - it moves slowly for the first half, and very quickly on the second...

That's it. Everything else is flawless. HAVING a batt-gauge is an improvement over all my prior phones, and these tiny, lightweight nickel-metal hydride batteries are half the size of my old phone's Ni-Cads, while easily going 4 or 5 days off the charger. Conversely, I think a full battery will give 4 or 5 hours of talk.

The ergonomics are great, with perfectly lit rubber-buttons. You can dial in the dark and the rubber gives the phone a grip when you set it down on the arm of a chair. The menu system may appear daunting at first, but quickly becomes intuitive. Steel garage doors or roofs will block the signal, but otherwise the reception is perfect all over my property and indeed, 2 houses up the sidewalk. Of course, besides range and clarity, the 1.9GHz frequency lets me put the base station right next to my wireless router without any interference.

Speaking of the base, like the handsets it has a very good speakerphone. That, combined with the dialing pad, come in very handy when you don't have a handset nearby.

All in all a nearly perfect system at a great price...

Digital camera Review: CID "add 1" format feature exists
Summary: 4 Stars

The reviews which say this phone lacks an "add 1" format feature for returning long distance phone calls are either mistaken or outdated. I almost returned my just-purchased phone based on these reviews, but page 30 of the manual reveals that the "*/tone" button will add or remove a "1" to/from any caller ID number. I tried it and it indeed works as advertised. I have not had this phone long enough yet to contribute more, but so far it seems fine. It has every feature I want in a multiple-handset cordless system

Digital camera Review: Center button fails after a period of time.
Summary: 3 Stars

I can vouch for all of the people who claim the center multi-function button stops working after a period of time. Other than that problem, the phone works great. Good sound quality and the message indicator light illuminates for us when a person leaves a voice mail (we use Vonage).

With respect to the large multi-function button not working, I've managed to fix it. I've posted a step-by-step on the FixYa website (due to Amazons filtering of URLs in the review section I cannot give you the web address but it is just FixYa with www. on the front and .com on the back). Type in "Uniden DCX200" in the search bar on that website and click Search, then look under the "Problems & Solutions" section for the post that starts with "On 2 of the 4 handsets".

Digital camera Review: Cheap construction
Summary: 1 Stars

Bought the whole set in 2008 and now all 4 phones have the same problem, the center pad that you choose your phone book or caller id list is unuseable. I am a nut with phones, make sure they are always back on the hook, make sure everyone treats them as I would. But in the end, every phone has the same problem, so it's safe to say that all of these that they sell are made the same cheap way.

I wrote to them explaining the problem, they wrote back telling me how to reset the phone. When I wrote back again explaining that resetting the phone would not help, well I never did hear from them again. So there you go, Don't Bye These
