This is the second extra handset I have purchased to expand my phone system. It is very simple to have the system recognize the new unit and, if you wish, to transfer the phone book to it from another unit. Reception is great - totally interference free - and the range allows me to use the unit anywhere on my property and to even walk my dog around the corner to the next block and still use the phone without trouble - roughly 250 - 300 feet from the base which is in my basement.
