Digital camera Review: A Solid Phone with a lot of features

This phone is very solid and has a lot of useful features. I have owned it for a couple of days. Here is what I think:

> It has a 3-bar battery indicator, so I can see when the battery is full, medium, low and when it is time to recharge.
> It has an orange flashing light on top of the phone that flashes when there is a message in the voicemail; very convenience.
> It has a speakerphone
> There is an one-touch programmable voice mail access button
> You can save 100 (two number each) contacts in the phone book
> The LCD contrast (adjustable) is great, very easy to see during the night and day.
> The battery lasts for 5 hours conversation and 7 days standby.
> It has a nice aesthetical and ergonomically design
> Also it has, two-way communication with other handsets, and room monitor and it shows the last three numbers dialed.
[CONS]
The only complain I have is regarding the Caller ID. It only shows the number of the person calling and the phone does not associate those numbers with your phone book. So if in your phone book you have Dan Tel. 212-555-5555, when Dan calls you all you can see is only his telephone number 212-555-5555 and not the name of the person. This is very, very annoying. This is the reason why 4 stars only.
I can live with that because people normally call me to my cell phone. But if you mainly use your landmine phone, this could be something to keep in mind when purchasing this phone.

This phone has some really fantastic features. As a 1 line phone I highly recommend it. If you add the 2nd line, you CANNOT use both lines. As soon as the 2nd call comes in, the 1st call line is filled with loud buzz and the caller is inaudible.

This was listed along with the Uniden TRU9485-3 apparently as an expansion set. This is a free-standing, functional system. (To be completely fair, Amazon was fantastic about taking it back.) The phone system itself is fine. The distance is only fair, but the quality within the house is good and the handset is comfortable to use. The readout is easy to see and the menus are intuitive. I've owned a 900MHz Uniden Extend-A-Phone for over 10 years and I've been happy with it - the only exception there is that the range is pretty limited. With the good experience with the Uniden product and wanting to get something more up to date, I selected the Uniden 5.8 GHz model that included call ID features. Getting the unit up and working was simple enough - as any phone should be. Programming the call entries wasn't too bad but I don't like the method for activating the calls from the list. It makes 3 way calling much more difficult when using entries from the address book. But one of the most annoying things about this phone is that I have to set the time of day and day of week. I don't know why this information isn't simply taken from the caller ID message. It wouldn't be so bad to set it once, but this phone has the nasty habit of resetting when I plug it in the charger after a call. The call could be 2 minutes or 92 minutes and it may or may not reset when placed in the charger. 2 stars because it does have good range, but I would expect that in any 5.8 phone. Bottom line for me is that this will be the last Uniden product I ever purchase.
