Digital camera reviews of Uniden TRU9460 5.8 GHz Expandable Compact Cordless Telephone with Call Waiting and Caller IDDigital camera Review: Does NOT work with Uniden TRU-9466 Summary: 2 Stars
I had to return this item because it's not compatible as an additional handset for the Uniden TRU9466 phone system.
When I purchased the Uniden TRU9466 unit, the TRU9460 came up as a "buy this unit also" choice, implying that it worked with the TRU9466. Once it arrived, I found out that the TRU9460 was a standalone unit and would NOT associate with the Uniden TRU9466 2-line system.
The good news is that Amazon refunded my money, including shipping. I was pleased with that, even though frustrated by the inconvenience of not having an additional handset.
Digital camera Review: Excellent 2nd generation expandable cordless phone system Summary: 5 Stars
This is a reasonably full featured cordless phone, and its main advantage is that this relatively inexpensive base and phone can be expanded to handle up to 10 extensions in total (including the base). That's useful if you have a small or medium sized house or office and you'd like to be able to call between handsets, just like calling between wired phone extensions. There are similar but more expensive systems from AT&T and Panasonic. We bought the Uniden base and several handsets for a 2500 square foot home. There are handsets in the basement and on the first and second floors. The cordless signal carries well to all three levels. We bought it to replace a much older Siemens expandable cordless system whose reception is not nearly as good. The Uniden handsets have a couple of features that are particularly useful: You can name each handset -- "Living Room", for example, and then when you want to call an extension you see a list of all the names on your system. This is a lot better than seeing a list of extension numbers -- you don't have to remember that Extension 4 is the kitchen, etc. And you can enter frequently dialed numbers into the base handset and then export the whole list to each of the extension. If you're looking for an expandable cordless system, this one is reasonably priced, has a good range of features, and works well across multiple rooms and at least two floors of a house.
Digital camera Review: Excellent Phone Summary: 5 Stars
If you need the security of a 5.8 DSS phone that's simple with great quality, this is it. Great sound; no weird muting like another brand I had, I can always hear the other person. The handset speaker phone feature is really convenient. A prior reviewer mentioned the Caller ID name is not displayed, but if you subscribe to an ID service with name display, Caller ID Deluxe here, the name is displayed on all inbound calls when available. A lot of nice features in a small package. Very happy!!
Digital camera Review: For the price a great phone Summary: 5 Stars
I have been disappointed in other products due to poor battery life. This phone has good sound and the battery life seems better than most - it makes it through the 24 hours or so that I require between charges. For the price you can't go wrong.
Digital camera Review: Good Phone - for a year anyway..... Summary: 3 Stars
I would have given this phone 5 stars before last week. My mother and I both purchased this phone in Oct 2006. Hers immediately went blank. You couldn't see anything on the screen period. I thought it was just a fluke and they replaced her phone and everyone was happy. Well 30 days after the return period hers died again. I liked mine so much I just bought her another one to replace that one. WELL, last week my screen died as well. You can no longer use the address book, caller id, or anything. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this phone!
