Digital camera reviews of Uniden TRU9460 5.8 GHz Expandable Compact Cordless Telephone with Call Waiting and Caller ID

Digital camera Review: Great phone and features
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a really nice phone and has a lot of great features. The expandable feature makes it work for anyone. Plus, you can add the waterproof rugged Uniden handset to this system for the garage or pool area.

Digital camera Review: HardTo Please
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this product for one of my sons for Christmas.
Needless to say from the title he is a great guy but not easy to find a
gift for. This phone was the purfect choice. It is simple to operate and
dependable. NO fuss, no muss. Good look for a man. Havn't heard a single complaint. The best is, should he want to enhance his phone to a more than one device system it is a very economical and simple step. Also cudos
to being able to find the perfect gift on line with such easy access and
confidence.

Digital camera Review: Has this phone over a year now, very happy
Summary: 4 Stars

We bought this set off Amazon a year or more ago. I wanted a cordless set I could add as many headsets as I wanted to and this one fit the bill. I even added the waterproof phone to use for the garage and yard.

I don't have any major issues with the system.

We've used the monitoring feature on this system a lot as a baby monitor, works great because I can just stick a phone where I need it to be and monitor it from anywhere else, where most baby monitors need to be plugged in, so this works quickly and conveniently.

I am going to recommend my parents buy the two line version of this phone for their home as their system is slowly dying.

Digital camera Review: Lots of features, but lacks range
Summary: 3 Stars

After doing intensive research to replace my 2.4 GHz cordless phones I opted for the Uniden TRU9460. It's the sleekest design of the whole series (the others have terribly bulky bases) and it's truly abundant in features (Caller ID, stores up to 100 numbers, distinctive rings for the numbers you want, LED indicator at the top for incoming calls or new messages). Perhaps my favorite features are the room monitor, intercom and directlink. The monitor allows me to place a handset on one of my kids room and eavesdrop whenever things get too quiet at home. With the intercom I can reach my wife in the kitchen without shouting or interrupting my reading in my bedroom. And the directlink works as a two way radio (like walkie talkies). I personally haven't used it much but I still think it's a cool feature to have.

The two things that didn't impress me about this phone are the range and the sound clarity. I just don't feel that 5.8 Ghz gives me a wider range spectrum. I've placed the base in the exact same spot where I had older phones and the signals start to breakup around the same distance from the base as my my 2.4 Ghz system. The sound clarity is not much better than my 2.4 Ghz VTech phones, which by the way, never interfered with the wireless network I have.

Overall this is a nice upgrade, and since technology is always pushing us forward (there are very few 2.4 Ghz cordless systems being offered now) this is a solid 5.8 Ghz cordless systems.

Digital camera Review: Loved it on day #1, but things started to sour
Summary: 2 Stars

PROS : decent range, intercom feature (my wife and i use that all the time), room monitor feature, sound quality.

CONS : (1) you can change ringers for different callers, but you can't change the ringer the intercom, and the default ringer is a shrill, annoying, piercing sound; (2) you can scroll through a list of past incoming calls (by caller ID), but long distance numbers don't come with a "1" so when you press the green "flash" button, it dials the number w/o the "1" and obviously encounters a phone network error - instead, you have manually input the entire number; (3) our accessory handset started giving choppy sound quality (and intermittently, no sound quality upon answering calls) after 10 months, and upon following the user manual instructions to de- an re-register it, it doesn't work at all. we're sending it back to uniden to invoke our 1-year warranty.
