Digital camera reviews of Uniden TRU9460 5.8 GHz Expandable Compact Cordless Telephone with Call Waiting and Caller ID

Digital camera Review: Major disappointment
Summary: 1 Stars

As a fan of Uniden products, I couldn't wait to get my new phone!! I plugged it in, charged it for 24 hours, set it up and made my first call. Then my second. And third... Each of my callees had the same response: They all expressed pain at the loudness of my voice, and all had to turn the volume down on their phones in an attempt to ease the pain. They said the sound was "tinny", "too much treble" and that there was fuzz at the end of each word, sometimes making it difficult to hear what I was saying. By the way, I never mentioned to them that I was calling on a new phone - I chatted for a while and they each quickly or eventually said, "Where are you calling from???" or, "ouch! Let me lower the volume!!", with annoyance and frustration. I bought this and the companion accessory handset. At first I thought maybe I had a faulty phone so I set up the second one and made my calls. Same response. I called everyone back on my original 900mhz Uniden phone and everyone's response, "That's much better, what'd you do?"

So, now what? I'd like to stick with Uniden and get a nice updated 5.8GHZ phone but this is definitely NOT the one for me (or anyone!!)

Digital camera Review: Maybe not as good as I thought
Summary: 5 Stars

Update March 08: Same key failed on the replacement handset:(
Update August 07: The 4-way function key on one handset failed. Uniden sent a replacement. I had to pay $10 shipping. I'm afraid the other handset will fail right after the 1-year warranty period.
Original Review, Sept 06: Best phone I've ever had. Good clear signal everywhere in the house. Lots of nice features. Up to 100 memory locations for storing frequently called numbers (I only need 20). Programmable ringtones so you know who is calling as soon as you hear the ring.

Digital camera Review: No complaints
Summary: 5 Stars

Couldn't be happier with this setup. Not complicated to use and you can transfer your stored numbers to the other handsets without having to re-enter all the numbers. Also has a room monitor and handset to handset talk feature that is nice if you want to call out to another room/garage. Very happy with it.

Digital camera Review: No problems at all
Summary: 5 Stars

I had read a couple of bad reviews for this phone before I bought it but they were outweighed by the good so I took the plunge. I love this phone. It is light weight and small. No problem with static or reception. It also looks great, very sleek styling. I would recommend to this to a friend.

Digital camera Review: Phone does not work well
Summary: 1 Stars

The phone was not audible. If you received or placed a call, there is interference on the line (a buzzing sound). Whether I was near the base or away from the base, the audio was horrible. I returned it and bought a GE phone which is great!!!
