The Uniden TRU9460 has been very reliable. Distance is great. Clarity is amazing. Also does not interfere with other 802.11 devices in the home. Finally, used with the Uniden TWX977 waterproof phone as a base with the same results. I absolutely love this product. The phone is compact, light weight, easy to operate, and has a terrific range when away from its base. It took me no time at all to key in names and numbers into my phonebook which stores up to 100 names into the handset. The really nifty feature about the phonebook is that the system places them in alpha order by the first letter of the first word.
This phone can also support up to a total of ten (10) cordless handsets (Model TCX905 or TWX977) which do not need to be connected to a phone jack. They are registered with the main unit by placing them on the TRU9460's main base (only after the accessory handset is fully charged for at least 15-20 hours). Once that is done, the accessory handset reads the signal off the main unit. All you need is to place the unit back on its charger. You can even copy your phonebook from the main unit into your accessory unit without ever rekeying all the information again.
I would definitely recommend the TRU9460 Expandable Cordless System for its ease of use and expandability. It is a great phone and good value for the dollar.

This phone system is a winner. It is easy to figure out with the Instruction Book. I personally like all the ring tones available. The expandable feature is what is really needed when you want multiple rooms connected without worrying about phone jacks. A big plus is the feature for accomodating listeners with hearing aids. I wanted to get a simple 5.8 cordless phone. I have a Panasonic with an answering machine & pleased with it. This Uniden was right there with the Panasonic. It was very easy to program the phone book, the handset & the ring tones. I like the back lit numbers and the amber(?) color is real easy on the eyes. I don't use it far from the base, so I find no issues with the range. I definitly recommend this for anyone who needs a phone and maybe needs to expand it later.Digital camera Review: Works well but doesn't last

I had no problem with the phone - until it malfunctioned just after the 1 yr. warranty period had ended. The handset started beeping incessantly, and the only way to stop it was to remove the battery. When the battery is put back in, the phone starts beeping again.
Now it's time to buy another phone...from a different manufacturer.
