Digital camera Review: Best baby monitor I could find

We are using this primarily as a baby monitor for video. We previously tried the Summer Infant monitor - which seemed to be the most recommended monitor. The Summer Infant had terrible interference problems (it killed our wi-fi network) so I returned it to Amazon after I bought the Uniden at another retailer (I didn't see it on Amazon until after I bought it because it wasn't in the baby department but in electronics). Overall, this is the best video solution amongst many imperfect options that I could find.
This is a very good baby monitor (my comments below are for that use - which I think is slightly more common than those using it for actual security).
- Very little wi-fi interference (for me, other users have noted issues so YMMV). It uses frequency hopping -which is more secure (a neighbor can't casually turn on a similar monitor and see your video feed) and minimizes interference
- Large screen (3.5" diag) - one of the largest of the video baby monitors
- Looks sleek - much more like a consumer electronics product
- As others mentioned, both receiver and camera have built-in rechargeable batteries - just unplug and go, or plug in and use it while they are charging
- Camera comes with a stand. If you are placing this on a high shelf to point down on baby's crib, it won't work (it doesn't tilt down enough - we moved it across the room) - but it will mount on a wall, though we haven't tried this
- Excellent night vision and range - very bright LEDs (or so it seems when viewed on camera).
- One touch (toggle) zoom in / out
Also, has some nice options like motion detection (if you are using this for security) though you need to hook the camera up to a computer and download some software - not the most elegant solution. Some have noted low volume - this is probably true if you are in a noisy background (watching TV) - also it does not have LED indicator lights that flash on when there is noise as some baby monitors do. Also of note, the frequency of the frame refresh is not high - you will see jerky motion on the camera. This shouldn't be an issue for the intended purposes, but is worth noting.
This is an indoor (or at least dry area only) camera - so if you are using it for security this is important to note. Also, as others have mentioned, trying to use this indoors pointing out at night is also an issue due to the LED reflecting off the windows.
