Digital camera Review: Annoying hissing, tight, possible connection problems

Here are more details.
Intended purpose: Listening to TV while the TV sound is muted to avoid disturbing others.
The good: Easy to install. Contrary to some other reviews, could hear it in any position and any place in a big room. Sound is loud and rather clear.
The bad: (1) The biggest problem is hight frequency hissing. It is always there and it is loud enough that can't be masked by the actual sound.
(2) I could not figure out how to connect the base in the way that to hear the sound while TV is muted. When connected to the TV, the earphones will mute together with the TV. Connecting to the DVD player is a pain, as you need to disconnect the TV (unplug the leads).
(3) Kind of tight on the head and I wouldn't be able to keep them on comfortably for an hour. (My wife said the same and her size is M.)
I would recommend the product only as a sound enhancer to a person with a relatively small head who has some hearing disability and can't hear high frequencies. Otherwise you will be annoyed very soon.

I ordered this product for my brother in law that lives with us. He is hard of hearing and uses this to listen to TV in his bedroom to keep from disturbing everyone in the house. He is on his third set in 15 yrs. Actually the only part that needs to be replaced is the earphones. They probably would last longer if he did not forget and sit on them from time to time. We highly recommend this product.

I just received this product yesterday..hooked it up and it sounds great! I almost ordered the TV Ears Personnal Listening System which cost 149.00. But so far I am glad I tried this product first. I purchased this item for my 89 year old mother-in-law. She longer watched tv because she couldn't understand anything said on it. We attached this item and it was a bit muffled for her but when we attached the mike onto the speaker front of the tv , it worked great. She watched a movie the other night and said its the first time in 2 years she has been able to enjoy tv again. Thanks for a great product. M.G.Rydzeski
