Digital camera Review: NOT SO EASY TO USE
Summary: 2 Stars

I WAS HOPING FOR A UNIVERSAL REMOTE THAT WAS EASY TO USE, I ALSO CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE.

Digital camera Review: Nicely made, but......
Summary: 3 Stars

I spent hours trying to get it to work with my system. I went online to remote central, AVS forum, etc. Finally, I gave up and ordered the Harmony 670. The URC is obviously well made, but I had the Harmony up and running inless than 40 minutes. The wife loves it, too. Case Closed!

Digital camera Review: Solid Remote
Summary: 4 Stars

This remote is a solid performer. However, there are some cons that would make this remote a hands-down 5 star winner.

1) No PC interface. It would be nice to setup / edit remote settings via a PC interface which would also allow real-time access to the latest device codes.

2) No ability to edit macros. Macros can be very powerful and can contain up to 190 lines (commands). However, there is no way to edit your existing macro. The options are erase and rerecord (start over). A PC interface could fix this issue.

3) No way to turn off the remote. It continues to display data on the screen 7 x 24. Would be a nice battery saving feature.

4) No way to set a device as a default. As a result, you must select the device (TV or Cable) every time to operate your preferred device (e.g. TV).

5) Documentation could provide more details and examples. The website does not provide any additional help and the FAQ page on the site is still under construction. No user forum available either.

Digital camera Review: Sturdy, Reliable, Highly Programmable
Summary: 5 Stars

I own five URC-300 remotes and use them throughout my house. One of the great things about this remote is that it can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it. I am a gadget guy who likes to tinker with electronics, and my wife is just the opposite - she simply wants things to work. The URC-300 has kept both of us happy.

These remotes are becoming harder to find these days, even on eBay. But if you can get your hands on one, grab it. They are a pleasure to use and even to program. I had never programmed a universal remote before I got my first URC-300 and I found it to be rather fun to set up.

The only negative thing that I can say about it is that it can at times be rather finicky about learning the codes from certain remotes (I have a Magnavox DVD/VHS player that, for whatever reason, gives the URC-300 fits.) But overall, if you are looking for reliability and ease of use, this is an outstanding remote.

Digital camera Review: This is a Great Remote
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this remote along with the universal expander to run a DVR, a DVD/VHS and home theater that are set up in a storage room and connected to my family room TV (i.e. the equipment is behind a wall).

PROS: It works better than I had hoped. The radio connection works every time. Programming is fairly easy and it runs off-brand equipment just fine

CONS: The touch screen is a little to small for fat-fingered people.
