Digital camera reviews of V-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds - Bling Bling Black

Digital camera Review: My second pair -- simply great
Summary: 5 Stars

After a month, I ditched my iPod-supplied earphones, which I found to be tinny and incredibly uncomfortable. Upgraded to the v-Moda bass in white over a year ago. The sound is spectacular. Fits the ear great, due to 3 different sizes of ear bud adapters. And they are pretty close to noise-cancelling. Not complete, but good enough to drown out the very loud chatter on the Metro every day. So much noise is cancelled that I can't wear them (safely) for running.

I don't know why v-Moda refers to this pair as "bling bling." There is nothing flashy about them.

I abused the white earbuds sufficiently (shoved in jean pockets, bottom of briefcase) that they broke. Thankfully, the price is right, so I picked up a pair of the black the next day. Sound is still great, though for some reason, the wires on the black are less supple than the white pair. Still, when you consider the price and sound and compare them to the crap you'll get for $20-30 off the rack at Best Buy -- well, there's really no comparison.

Digital camera Review: happy
Summary: 3 Stars

it was hard to figure out the right ear plug size, but overall it's a good set. It sure beats the headphones that come w/ the iPod and that's what i needed. I can work better now in the open environment in my office.

Digital camera Review: Best earbuds for the money by far
Summary: 5 Stars

These blow away the standard ipod earbuds (which ones don't?). One pair of the three different sized sets of included plugs should fit 98% of people out there.

These are close to "noise cancelling" buds since they seal so well and basically block out external ambient sound - assuming you are playing something on the ipod of course.

Oh, and the bass? The bass is not just a marketing gimmick or a bunch of BS - these things really do have superb and deep bass. Listening to Peter Gabriel's Red Rain from Secret World Live, I can feel the drums pounding and its awesome.

Worth every penny - I bought 2 pairs.

Digital camera Review: Too Fragile
Summary: 2 Stars

I've just tossed my second pair of these earbuds in the trash. Both of them lasted less than 2 months before one of the channels started dropping out. The wiring is just too flimsy to hold up to normal wear and tear. They sound fine and they do a good job of keeping out ambient noise, they are just too fragile for an average user.

Digital camera Review: Great for the money
Summary: 4 Stars

I'd take zachman's review with a grain of salt. While the accentuated bass may be bothersome to some people, I found these to be a noticeable step up from the stock headphones that come with mp3 players (Apple, Creative, Sharp). They're not the audiophile quality of the better Shure's and Sennheisers, but for the money they're fine, sound good to me with a variety of music (not just hip hop or dance mixes), and they're less to worry about than a pair of $300+ buds. I stash a pair in my computer bag to use with my laptop.
