Like most other users who have reviewed this product, I found 2 really bad qualities about these headphones (This is my 4th set):
1. The connector was really crappy, and failed every few months or so.
2. the cable is not properly shielded and conducts physical perturbations to the headphones very loudly.
The most recent pair I have bought has a Y connector that has been allowed them to last longer than any of my other pairs. It ALSO has an additional layer (I guess it's just plastic) around the cable that has eliminated problem #2. As always, the sound is awesome. For 40 bucks, you will not find a better pair of headphones.
