Digital camera reviews of V-MODA Vibe In-Ear Noise-Isolating Metal Headphone (Gunmetal Black)

Digital camera Review: DO NOT BUY!
Summary: 1 Stars

These are extremely overpriced earbus. I have had 2 sets, on replaced under warranty and they both broke. I am really carefull abou them the sound is just so-so. Better bass that most but Female Vocals and piano sounds are just terrible- they can just a lot of boom boom and completely-un-HiFi tunes. They both broke at the jack, and there is a lot of cable rustling - there are others that are a lot better. I have had Bose Tri-ports, for Jazz Classical and Vocals -excellent. These are just Volume brain blasters. If you want your brain fried, these are it. But it won't hold up for long.

Digital camera Review: DON'T BUY THESE!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

As some others have written these sound great at first but they are NOT worth it. They will develop a short circuit in the plug after about a month of regular use. Then you'll only get sound from one side. It's happened to me with two different sets from different v-moda lines. To make matters worse, their customer service is terrible and will find any excuse not to honor the warranty. Save yourself the headache and find another brand.

Digital camera Review: Decent phones...a little boomy
Summary: 4 Stars

Bought these with the infamous $100 Apple credit. I've always been uninterested in earbuds because they tend to hurt my ears, but these guys are really quite comfortable. They fit really snug and comfortable with the small plugs.

Right out of the package they sounded a little bass heavy - more specifically like a high rolloff. I would describe the sound as muddy. I have a very decent Bowers & Wilkins setup at home, take care of my ears in loud situations, and have really good hearing in the higher frequencies, so I feel pretty confident in my ears and what hi-fi can really produce. So I've left them playing for the last 6 hours trying to break them in... they are still a little boomy, the highs are better, still everything is murky.

However it's nothing a gentle EQ can't take care of: just a tweak around 64/125hz end and a wee lift in the upper registers. Perhaps they'll even out more as they get used.

But overall I'm very pleased. Good sound isolation and very comfortable. MUCH better than the Apple earbuds by any measure. Will make good companions on the subway or on the plane.

Digital camera Review: Difficulty placing in ear
Summary: 4 Stars

The performance of the product in excellent, the only problem is that there is extreme difficulty getting the earbuds to stay in my ears. They keep falling out no matter the variety of sizes that have been provided. Nonetheless, don't let that be a hindrance, the earbuds produce the quality output that you'd expect for the price and even better, you don't have to increase the volume level to an extreme high to get maximum performance. Even at low volumes, it generates a superior resonance when compared to many of the other proclaimed 'high-end' brands. The other great feature is the flexible material with which the cord is made. I feel comfortable placing the buds in smallest storage area without worrying about the cord breaking.

After evaluating the price, sound quality and efficient design (minus the trouble with staying in my ear), I'll endorse the V-Moda Vibe Earbuds as a 'Go Getta' anyday!

Digital camera Review: Disappointed, but great customer service
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought these earbuds because of the great reviews on CNET. While the comfort is great, the quality and sound are lacking. I'm on my 3rd pair, and will have to send them back again, as they've just stopped working. The first two times, one of the earbuds came apart. This time, the earbuds have stayed intact for several months, but there's some issue with most of the sound being cut out. The kicker to my story is that I'm now using a very old Apple set of earphones. I was shocked at how much warmer the music sounds.

As others have stated, customer service is great. You just need to fill out a form on their website for a return authorization. When they get the return, they send out a brand new set.
