Digital camera Review: A safe way to store SD cards
Summary: 5 Stars

Since SD memory cards have gotten pretty cheap, it has become reasonable to use them like film and not over-write them, saving them as one more form of backup for digital images. While they might not last forever, neither will a spinning disk, CDs, DVDs, or magnetic tape. I use Vanguard aluminum storage modules to keep SD and Compact Flash cards safe and organized.

Digital camera Review: Aluminum rules!
Summary: 5 Stars

I like aluminum. I like SD cards. With that in mind, this was a no-brainer for me. I works well and looks great. I never have need of more than 5 or 6 cards, so this is a great size for me. It even fits in my car ashtray! My old cassette case couldn't do that!

Digital camera Review: Buy something else...
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought 2 of these units and they have been a real disappointment. EVERY TIME I open the metal case, I find that most all of my SD cards are loose and sliding around.

Digital camera Review: Card Holder
Summary: 4 Stars

The card holder does work. Keeps things well orginized. I would buy again. The only problem is it cost me more for the shippimg then the porduct it self.

Digital camera Review: Decent memory card case
Summary: 4 Stars

It's unfortunate that the manufacturer's name for this product is "Di-Holder" and not "Memory Card Case", especially since the latter is written on it. The product didn't turn up in my initial searches of Amazon. I finally stumbled upon it on some other web sites, then came back here to search for the exact name.

At this time there are several versions on Amazon, but the basic "Technical details" are mostly incorrect, you must look at the "See more technical details" to tell which shape of memory card is supported and how many. I bought the version which holds 8 SD cards. A molded rubbery insert holds the cards in place within the case. The cards were held securely but easily removed.

Warning: the card holder inserts fell right out, repeatedly. Be prepared to glue them into the aluminum shell. A little "shoe goo" along the edges worked for me.

Other than that minor problem, I'm happy with the case for the $9 price tag. I just wanted a case to hold some SD cards to go with the digital picture frame we gave our mother, rather than have a bunch of cards lying around in their individual cases. And I didn't want a bending plastic hinge that would eventually break apart, so the aluminum version seemed like a better choice to buy unseen.
