I love my Lightscribe!! I am backing up the photos on my computer. So I just put a few of the photos that you can find on the DVD, right on the front of my DVD. Verbatim with LightScribe were my very first DVD disc purchase.I purchased them after reading the reviews of this product on Amazon.I purchased these for the singular use of burning in my photos from my computer to these discs.I am still routed in an analog mentality, so I have to have something tangable in my posession,even if it is 0 and 1 on a disc.
I just completed my first burns of photos. I burned 8 of these discs with out a problem at maximum speed then flipped them over and burned in my titles using the Lightscribe function incorporated in my Nero software that came with my new Samsung dvd. Sweet there is no debatin verbatim, they worked 100% of the time....so far...

This product is excellent. In fact, I would burn the whole pack of these disks just for fun, that's how I love to do it! I just cannot stop! I made a DVD disk with photo slide-show for my parents as a present and created very cool label with 5 different pictures and text on it. My parents could not believe me, that I made it by myself.
You can get a lot of ideas for label designs on the Internet or create your own style. The software is free for download and fun to use. The quality of the disks are also very good.

As far as the disks, they're excellent. 100% good writes, no coasters.
One of the keys to "no coasters" is never write at the max speed on any disk. These are rated 16x. Write at 12x. What's another 1-2 minutes anyway?
My review is about the LightScribe feature. It's intended to allow you to make your own DVD labels burned onto the disk. It's something people want. Someday, it may be great. But, right now, from a technology evolution standpoint, it's like the Wright Bros airplane compared to a 747. The write is simple B&W on a gold background which doesn't give much contrast. Pics you add look like bad copies from an old newspaper. Also, you need a LightScribe burner. And, the software which is free but you have to download and install from the website.
If you like to fund new technology development, go for it. Simple B&W text label, OK. If you're expecting to make store bought DVD labels, forget it.
