I bought two of these due to the reviews. They don't work! I had to send one back which was so noisy, they replaced but even if you clean these everyday, in the middle of the night they stop working. When they say sensitive to things in the water they are NOT kidding. I have never had a humidifier that needs so much work to get it to operate. quiet yes, but half the time not putting out the steam. Stick to Holmes unitsDigital camera Review: Fantastic!

We have had Vicks Ultrasonic Humidifier by Kaz for about 14 months and have had no problems at all. The surrounding area does not get damp which is a problem we had with other products. One aspect of this product we admired was its longevity; our second humidifier lasted only 2 months. Good output of cool mist, but daily upkeep, filter changes, is a pain. It gets stinky if you don't change the filter frequently. Also, the instructions say not to leave the unit running while empty--so why didn't the manufacturer make it shut off automatically, as other models do??? Overall, I prefer the Honeywell warm mist humidifiers with built in humidistat--easier to maintain, auto shut off.Digital camera Review: Great Product
