I chose this product due to it's features for the price. Batteries were not an option, w/Batteries, the screed fades and will go out when the batteries drain, even using Lithium. So it as with all the others to be used with 110v, w/Adapter. The frame works in both Portrait and Landscape. Will also upload MP3, and other music formats, to go along with the pictures. This frame is so simple to used, there is not any software to load on your computer. Just plug in the frame and it will open it's own window folder where you can drag n' drop photo's, into the frame or out, and you are all set. If you want more pictures than the 128MB (which holds many .jpegs or .jpg, Gif, BMP, and other formats. BMP's are a bit large. But the frame will accept SDHC cards to expand the memory. Very nice looking, especially in flat black, once loaded, does not need to be near a computer, just plug in to electrical plug w/included transformer, and play.
Great gift for the wife or mother, even girlfriend.

Everything works fine except a limitted number of pictures and video clip that can be shown with internal limitted momory capacity. I will be the first to tell you I don't know much about electronics' but I did some research and this ViewSonic so far is great! When I first took it out of the box I put in a SD card turned it on and watched the pictures go. I have a Nikon Coolpix S610 and took pictures in the 16:9 and the other settings and they all came out with no black borders in the picture mode. I still haven't gone through all the features but I think by far this is a great deal for your money! Fireman Dave
