Digital camera Review: A MUST for Photographic restoration & repair
Summary: 5 Stars
I do photographic restoration and repair as a hobby, but once I started using the Wacom tablet 6x8 along with Photoshop CS3, the outcome of my restoration results graduated to professinal quality work! I highly recommend this tablet for anyone who works with photographs, either as a hobby or as a vocation. When I removed the tablet from its box, I was suprised as to the quality of the unit --- very slick, well-designed and of superior construction.
The 6x8 size is very adequate and easily adaptable to my desktop; I would not recommend a larger size.
The Express Keys which are controlled by one's non-dominant hand are a great time-saver. I set the Keys to common keystroke commands, and while my right hand with the stylus is doing the drawing on the pad, my left hand toggles quickly between tools and commands. When working in Photoshop now, I rarely need to use my keyboard. I also bought the airbrush as an accessory and would not think of being without it. Although it cost an additional $100, it is worth every dollar! As for the mouse that comes with the Tablet -- ignore it.
I hit a few vague spots in the User's manual but eventually found help in the forums on the website. Installation is a breeze!
I also bought a DVD called Photoshop Secrets: Wacom Tablets and Photoshop CS3 by authors Colin Smith and Weston Maggio. I highly recommend spending the money for this very informative item. It saved me lots of "learning time."
