Digital camera reviews of Wacom Intuos3 6 x 8-Inch Pen TabletDigital camera Review: An invaluable editing tool for digital photography Summary: 5 StarsI am a serious photographer with years of experience in film and 5+ years fully immersed in the digital world. I resisted the use of a pen tab for years and needlessly struggled to achieve accurate photo edits using a mouse. About a year or so ago, I took the plunge and accepted the fact that there would be a new learning curve with the tablet.
I'm only sorry that I didn't make the switch earlier, or better yet, from the very beginning. The difference between editing with a mouse and with a tablet is analogous to trying to drive twisting mountain roads with a diesel truck vs. a Porsche. I frankly can't imagine doing my digital photo editing any other way now. In fact, I simply refuse to even tackle it with a mouse.
Within a week, you'll be comfortable with the pen in hand and with all of the time-saving short-cuts available through use of the tablet, not to mention the vastly improved quality of work that you'll produce.
Don't procrastinate. If you are serious about your digital art, then this is the only way to go.
Digital camera Review: Greatest. Buy. Ever. Summary: 5 StarsI really am glad that I found this pad. It was a great price and I don't regret it in the least. It took some time finding the correct device driver for my computer but that's a Wacom issue not an Amazon issue. The shipping was awesome and the package arrived when I expected it. Will buy more like this in the future
Digital camera Review: Review from a graphic design student Summary: 4 StarsI'm a student at a small university working to get my BFA in graphic design. One of our iMac labs has one of these at each of them. I knew that it would be a great tool to have at home to use on my personal projects. I have been very happy with the results. I use it with Photoshop CS3 and it does very well. It allows you to set how sensitive your touch to the pad is; thus allowing how the brush tool will respond. I don't use the short cuts at all, but I did try--they just don't do a thing for me. Actually, when i need to work into those corners, my hand may have to rest there and can lead to some unwanted clicks. I have run into a problem (I'm not sure who's to blame) when using the tablet with Photoshop: Sometimes it will not recognize the touches on the tablet or will only draw in straight lines. I usually fix this by actually using my mouse to draw a stroke, then switch back to the pen. A few times I had to reboot Photoshop. But other then those minor problems, this product is great. I really recommend those are going into digital illustration and graphic design to get one. This size works perfect. I don't see a need for amateur photographers to own one if all you're doing is cleaning up some blemishes. If you feel you need one, go with a smaller tablet (I would suggest the Bamboo line that Wacom has).
Digital camera Review: The absolute best tool for the job Summary: 5 StarsThere's not much that can be faulted in Wacom's product line. And again the Wacom Intuos 3 out performs any other tablet by any other company. I have bought 6 of these for my design firm and have yet to see one fail or be faulty. In my opinion it is unconditionally worth the price for the quality product you get.
Digital camera Review: Could NOT live without it. (Zero complaints!) Summary: 5 StarsAs a pro photographer, this is the one thing I absolutely could not live without in the editing process. Got this tool about three months ago, and the time savings alone from chaning the brush size is HUGE!
If you do lots of work in photoshop, save your pennies and buy this as fast as you can. I promise you will not regret it!
