Digital camera reviews of Wacom Intuos3 6 x 8-Inch Pen TabletDigital camera Review: Better than great! Summary: 5 Stars
My husband purchased this item for me a few days ago, I wanted it so badly. I LOVED it; I used it with all software, especially photoshop, I was never able to draw like that on the screen. It is so easy to use, doesn't require any talent, if you are able to hold a pen and write, you can use this tablet. One of the reviews mentioned that it is better to download the driver from the wacom website as the cd that comes with the tablet has problems (I think), I did that, but it didn't work, they didn't match even though I chose the exact one that goes with the tablet's version, it insisted that I have to install the pen driver. I re-installed it, but from the cd and it worked like a charm. So use whatever comes in the package, and when you register the product, your software will be updated automatically.
Enjoy it!
Digital camera Review: Better than the Intuos 2 Summary: 4 Stars
I have the Intuos2 at home, and use the new Intuos3 at work. I immediately sensed the additional levels of pressure sensitivity with the 3. It's easy to set up, but you have to be patient working your way through the dialog boxes. I'm not sure of the usefulness of the buttons on the tablet--I just continued using the command and control keys as usual on my keyboard. They may be useful for some, but I think they're awkward.
Overall, a solid product, and an absolute must for anyone doing retouch in Photoshop or using a program like Corel Painter.
Digital camera Review: CUSTOMER WARNING : Beware of refurbished units selling as new. Summary: 4 Stars
Have several Intuos3 tablets, and the device itself is really good. Some issues with MacOS X drivers were resolved two months ago.
However, this is not a review of a product. Be warned that some sellers are selling refurbished units as new, and not marking the difference, either in price or shipping. My latest purchase involved a refurbished unit, and seller refused to ship a non-refurbished one.
I love Intuos3. But beware of misleading sellers.
Digital camera Review: Can't Go Wrong Summary: 5 Stars
It takes time to get used to but overall I have no complaints for this particular tablet by Wacom. Great buy.
Digital camera Review: Can't go wront Summary: 5 Stars
This is the next to best tablet recommended to me by fellow digital artists. By losing six square inches (compared to the 6x9) you're not missing much. As I do not have a widescreen monitor this tablet works out great for me. It has never failed on me, and is light and easy to take with me where ever I go.
The inclusion of the mouse seems a bit silly as I have a wireless mouse already, but if you have a cabled mouse it may be very useful to you. I hardly ever use mine. The pen comes with multiple tips to give you options of "paper feel". I don't know how else to describe it. While I have not changed my tip since purchasing this tablet, I have experimented with the different tips and they feel nice. Almost like drawing on actual paper.
One minor complaint is the cable seems to get chewed up a bit at the base where it connects to the tablet. It has an option of either going in to a slot on the back or to the side of the tablet but does not stay in either slot and if you're like me and take this thing everywhere with you, you might be a little worried that the cable will eventually break or a least expose its wire.
Love this tablet though, and it's a $100 cheaper than getting the next size up which only offers an additional six square inches. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
