Digital camera Review: Better than the one pictured!

We ordered this and we were pleasantly supprised to see that the one we got was way nicer than the one pictured here. Although I don't smoke, I did notice that there is one of the four outlets that you can still use you lighter in and the other three are strictly for power. Unit came with mounting screws and and double sided tape for a couple different mounting options. Tried it out and it works great! The cord for the DC connector is plenty long for your car too. Maybe it's my car, not this thing, but I don't think it should have blown out the fuse on my Honda Element and stopped working within seconds of having only 2 items plugged into it. So not only did I have to send this thing back, but I also had to take my car in and get the fuse replaced. None of these things seem to work -- the first one I bought died in about 4-5 days. They are all cheap junk made in China. Why doesn't some manufacturer offer a competitive item that isn't junk? I've had a different brand of one of these in my 99 Camry for years and years with heavy use and never an issue. Now that I've gotten the fuse on the Element replaced, I have ordered a different brand and have crossed my fingers. After four family trips and countless hours of use, the Wagan 4-Way 12V Automotive Socket Extender continues to deliver as promised. This handy little gadget is value priced at under $10.
A typical trip involves charging two cell phones and two Nintendo DS Lite game consoles. We chose not to install the mounting hardware since the cord is long enough to run between the front seats and reach the back of our car. Our sons simply wind up the 34" cord along with their Nintendo DS accessories.
Each of the sockets provided a snug fit. Aside from an MP3 player or an electric blanket, I don't foresee using any larger electronic devices (e.g. portable TV).

I received this item fast and I installed it in about 5 minutes. It came with double sticky tape and 4 screws so you can choose which method is best for you. I chose the screws because I wanted a more secure installation. I drilled the holes and mounted the bracket and the unit attached easily. I plugged it in and hooked up my key fob charger, phone charger and radio transmitter and had all 3 operating without a hitch. The unit is sturdy and mounted with the screws I had no problems plugging and unplugging my devices. The only thing I can complain about is that the item I received was not the same as the picture so they must have substituted. I have no problem with that as the substitution in my opinion is better looking and it works awesome. I would buy another if I owned another vehicle. I recommend this to everyone.

Who ever thought they'd need a strip outlet in their car? But with the kid's DVD player, the cell phone charger, and the radar detector all going at once, this 4-way socket was exactly what I needed. No more unplugging this to plug in that. They all stay plugged in, and I just unplug the whole thing from the main outlet when I turn off the car to make sure nothing drains the battery. And the price is right too! Pick one up and save yourself some hassle.
