Digital camera Review: 6 month review of low power green discs running 24x7

I bought 4 of these drives 6 months ago (so thats 24 part-years of operation under the belt) and put them into a raid enclosure to get a ~6 TB (really 5.51 or something) disc array that would run 24/7 and be part of my windows home server Microsoft Windows Home Server System Builder with URP1 box that I was building. I just needed raw storage - the home server software would do the job of backing up all my machines every night and keeping track of the data, provided it had a place to stay. The system now is setup to handle 12 internal discs + 4 external discs for a total of 16 drives, but I am running 6+4 (the interal drives are hitachi 2TB sata, and these are the external).
I've been very happy with the speed and reliability - no drive has failed in the 2 part-years of use between the 4 units running. They are quiet, and use very little power, so I'm not complaining there. It's actually a good disc unit at a good price, though now I wait for the 2TB drives to go on sale at the local store.
I'm giving it the 5 star recommendation mainly for reliability, lack of noise, and low power consumption - all these traits are not commonly found in disc mechanisms at the same time. For that they earned a 5 star rating. Value in $/TB would be 4 star by itself when the 2TB drives are on sale - but they are not always on sale, and when they are there are limits to how many you can buy.
For loading up a raid system these are a great buy!
