Boot one the get to know you boot and format to NTFS. Boot two was back up all my photos. Third boot, now the PC won't recogize the drive. No PC problem here, just a bad WD external drive. One hour of testing, two PCs, two cables, searching the WD website, a phone call to India, more testing, reading my address to India three times - you get the idea. I'm very disappointed. Now they tell me that eventhough the warranty is well into 2011 and the drive is about 35 days old I need to pay for shipping! Sheesh!Digital camera Review: 3 Months R.I.P

This is my third WD External HD in 3 years and I haven't any complaints.
It's fast, does it's job, and has plenty of ventilation area. I am not so keen on the Memeo software it comes with, but that's easily fixed.
I'll be buying another of these soon for a mirror backup on the other 1tb I have. It's about the size of a 1000 page paper back novel, and fairly weighty. Doubt it would like to be dropped though, the plastic doesn't seem very giving ;-). Not one you would want to carry around much. I think I'd get passport if you are moving around with it regularly.

was really excited/happy with this product 3 hours in .....then it happened....CRASH!!! Lost over one hundred gb of data...
i want to believe that i just a got a bad apple ...i will update when i recieve my replacment ...so far im not impressed.
