Digital camera reviews of Western Digital - 1Tb 7200 Rpm 16Mb Ext Hdd

Digital camera Review: Awesome product
Summary: 5 Stars

This device is fantastic. Not only is it large enough to hold all of our videos and music, it also writes fast! There is little to no delay in moving files, or writing new ones to it. Excellent product!

Digital camera Review: Awesome!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Couldn't hope for something easier to use. It's handsome..can set right out in the open and nobody even suspects it's a powerful hard drive.

Digital camera Review: BAD SELLER
Summary: 1 Stars

where do i begin....not even the right product. clearly not the one in the pic and its for MAC not PC. completely wrong item. very upset!NEVER BUYING FROM THIS SELLER AGAIN.

Digital camera Review: BEWARE
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased a previous version of the My Book series and after having disk corruption twice it died completely after less than 2 years. All data lost. Has Western Digital improved its reliability in these newer drives? I doubt it, and I'm not willing to risk it. A positive review from someone who has only owned the drive a week isn't of much value. Read up on other review sites and discussion forums, there are tons of complaints about Western Digital's drives failing. If I were you I would shop other brands. An unreliable drive is not worth owning no matter what price you get it for.

Digital camera Review: BEWARE !
Summary: 1 Stars

I've had this drive for 16 months, using it as an extra hard drive, as my laptop does not have much room. Well, it quit. I have tried several Data Recovery companies, and have been quoted anywhere between $5000 and $16,000 for recovery, and they all stated that there is maybe a 50% chance they could recover anything. It still has partial warranty thru Western Digital, but what good does that do me when I can't retrieve what's on it ??? They themselves do not do data recovery, and only Western Digital approved companies are allowed to touch it, or the warranty is void. Now I know better to have 2 drives, one as a backup. I LOVED it before this happened. Learned my lesson.
