Awful product! I originally bought one and it stopped working after about two days. Went back to the store and wanted to exchange it for another but they didn't have one in stock...so I got a refund. Went to another retailer and bought the same drive there. Got it home, tried to get it to work and...NOTHING! Tried it on three separate machines: two PCs and a MAC and the same thing. Poor quality control and weak build construction. How else can you explain two drives from two different stores failing? Digital camera Review: Redemption

After the huge disappointment of the WD MyBook 1TB World Edition that sounds like a daggone jet engine, I'm quite pleased with this pocket-sized, USB powered drive. Sure the access time is a bit slower, but there is almost ZERO noise. Literally. I had to turn the television off, hook it up to my MacBook Pro (also producing nearly zero noise instead of my Windows laptop) and listen for it while I was accessing it, only to hear what I had to deduce as drive noise since it couldn't be anything else.Digital camera Review: Perfect Match

It is really a cool external hard-disk. Forget carrying all the power cables for the external HDD when you go out. It is really compact and just works when you connect this to the USB. The performance is excellent even though it is 5400 RPM. I see things getting copied quickly.
Thumb rule, if you got to travel a lot with your personal or whatever data required, this would be a best bet. If you are going to keep it in your house forever, then you can think of buying other external HDD as you can buy more storage for the same price that you are paying for this.
It is simple, nice and very very easy to carry. It very well fits in your packet.
NOTE: Before the first use, make you sure, you are FORMATTING to NTFS to hold a tons of folders and huge files. The default that it comes in is as FAT.
Digital camera Review: Great Hardware But Should Include Software

This is a great drive from a hardware sense. Small, very quiet, large capacity. Imagine my surprise, however, when I discovered it doesn't come with backup software from the manufacturer!! Other WDC external drives have excellent backup software, but not this one. Very dissapointing.
