Having built quite the collection of programs and software on my allready full 200GB Hard Drive, the next step would be to purchase more storage. Just when my computer was running out of space... And it was hard to believe because i have 320GB hard drive, still i had to purchase myself and external hard drive. And this one did the job, it was easy to use, and it had more than enough space. It keeps everything well organized and it is not as bulky as i thought it would be. Its a decent size and helps me organize my files and movies, music, backups whatever.

the only downside is the installation programs might be a little bit tricky but still worth the time and money

This is my second Western Digital 500 GB disk. I have had one for years and it is excellent. I bought this for my daughter-in-law who takes many photos of her children and has been storing these photos on CD's. She has had no problem installing it on her desktops, and she is very happy with it. I purchased my first 'My Book' after observing the trouble free operation among my family and friends desktop systems.Digital camera Review: Allow me to save you agony- avoid all WD drives~~~!!!

Please be warned! I just chucked my second Western Digital 500 GB My Book drive after it failed, conveniently for WD, three months after the warranty expiration. THIS drive was a replacement for a previous WD My Book 500 GB drive which failed, miraculously that time, while within the warranty period. Because of their unreliability, I would NEVER, EVER purchase another WD drive, even if they were the last remaining manufacturers of HDs and my only alternative were to backup onto 3.5" floppies! Get the point? Save yorself unmitigated computer agony and certain data loss- avoid WD like the plague!Digital camera Review: Amazzingly Easy

I have been using this product for the past two months. It's very easy to use and has a very good compatibility with different softwares. You jsut need to connect the USB to your pc and it does the rest of job.
