I have a Cablevision Scientific Atlanta 8300HD DVR. To install the Expander you just unplug the DVR, plug in the Expander, attach the Expander cable, and plug in the DVR to reboot it. I think that the Expander is conservative as to how much programming it can hold. I could not be happier with the product.Digital camera Review: Endless amount of space now

At least so far it seems like endless space. The price was so low ($131.99) I couldn't resist buying the expander and I am so happy that I did. Before I was constantly running out of space and was transferring shows to my computer for storage. Set up was easy though I did have to do it twice for the TiVo to recognize the expander. The only problem I am having is that some recordings are pixilated but that might be the cable transmission.Digital camera Review: Enjoying the expander

We really love this DVR expander. It is very easy to install (we have a Tivo HD DVR) and the space you gain is considerable. For example, I would say right now we have approximately 50 HD shows recorded and too many to count SD shows. That being said, we still have over 200 suggestions! This device installed easily, working with a Scientific American DVR on a cable system. The device runs silently, the front light is dim enough not to draw the eye. The expanded DVR capacity is awesome! Highly recommended.
