Digital camera Review: Convenient, small and easy to use

I hadn't bought a USB-powered hard drive before, and am very happy with it. Much more convenient to use than an externally powered one, and it's very small (while having significantly more storage space than my computer's hard drive). If it holds up in the long run, I'll be really happy with this product.
I didn't use the backup software that comes preloaded on the drive, but it's a good idea - would make it easy for someone who doesn't have much technical savvy to do backups. As we all should, of course.

Unless you want to spend more money after buying this item, find a hard disk that will actually work as advertised. It won't work on either of my laptops, and I had to buy from Western Digital's online store (the only place the device is available) a power cord for $10 + $7 shipping. Western Digital ended up charging me twice for said cord, so that so far it's cost me $35 and the item has not even shipped. The drive seems cheaply made, too. I'm regretting I wasted my money on it when I could have had something better from Seagate or Toshiba. You might think you are saving money by buying a Passport, but if you have to be overcharged and frustrated when nothing is done about the extra charges, and the device doesn't work on your computer, you are not saving a thing, but looking to buy yourself a large helping of animosity.

I did not buy this drive, initially, because of the negative review, here! I bought the LaCie portable instead which was a big mistake --- its not near as good as this Western Digital. I bought my passport at BestBuy when it was on sale because it would be very easy to take it back. No need to take it back --- I love the drive, its smaller than the LaCie and has more capacity.
I have a MacBook Pro and it worked great right out of the box. I also have an old iMac G4 running Tiger and the old USB 1.1 --- I did not expect it to work here based on the reviews but to my surprise, it worked great on the old iMac --- I also tried it on my Play Station 3 and again it worked great.
I am so impressed by this little drive, that I will be buying Western Digital desk top drives when I replace my LaCie drives.
