Digital camera Review: Western Digital WDMER2500TN My PassPort Essential 250GB USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive
Summary: 4 Stars

It's a nice external hard drive. I like it.
At the same time you need to remember that this USB drive is not as fast as a typical internal hard drive.

Digital camera Review: Works well, BUT...
Summary: 5 Stars

...most of the time, you must plug it directly into the USB port on the computer itself - NOT through an outboard splitter, NOT through an extension and NOT with a longer cord. This has to do with the power needed to operate the drive.

Most other portable drives have extra power supplies or dual USB cords you must use, so this is a small price to pay for the convenience of a single cord connection.

Operates as it should; fast recognition, fast read/write, cool to the touch even after extended use. Great size, good looks, it just works.

Digital camera Review: Wrong size received, make sure you check
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought a 250gb WD Passport. A couple months after starting to use it, I discovered Amazon sent me a 160gb instead.... other than that, this is great... jg in ca

Digital camera Review: does the job, poor built-in software
Summary: 4 Stars

I just use it for data backup. It was well-priced, does the job, and is slim and easy to transport. I cannot say very much about data transfer, etc. The backup software it comes with is surprisingly poor. It is not easy or intuitive to use, and it reinstalls itself every time I try to use it.
