USB Powered, so no power cords to mess with. Small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. Black and shiny with non skid pads on the bottom. Great for backup, archive, or travel. The hard drive is fast, quiet, and does what it's supposed to do: store and transfer data. Not much more to say about the functionality. I was reluctant to give it five stars because of the glossy piano black finish that gets "micro" scratches (much like the silver back of an iPod) in seconds. However, a hard drive is not an art piece and it will likely be sitting in your briefcase or on the desk, so it's physical appearance should not be a reason to take stars off. This product does NOT connect to Vista. It is not even recognized. It works fine with XP, but if you are using Vista, good luck! I checked the web and it appears many users are haveing the same issue, and it does not appear that Windows or Western Digital care enough to fix it. First of all, the product arrived quickly. So I am very pleased with it. The size is very suitable to carry in a pocket, and the USB 2.0 interface made this HDD my "passport size" friend. It has power management mechanism, and after some idle time it turns off to save energy, and my laptop battery life.
All in all - an excellent product.
