I like this portable external HDD, it works nice with Mac but I couldn't use it with a Mac and PC in the same time and I bought another one for my wife's PC, and after I set it to work time machine for Mac the PC couldn't see it at all I tried to find any way to reinstall its original software but I didn't find it on the web and there was no CD with the HDD, so I bought another oneDigital camera Review: Great little external harddrive

I removed the software and manually manage all my files for this hard drive. I use it as a main drive for my music and photos. I would not reccommend this one to any people. I had suffered from so much inconvience.
First is its speed, its max speed is 13MB/s, however my two years old 40GB portable hard drive is about 20MB/s, not even mention nowadays portable hard drive can easily exceeds 30MB/s. Then is its crappy backup software, I simply reformat this hard drive.
Another big inconvience is the usb cord is way too short, only 15 inches, especially when you want to connect to desktop.
I will not forgot to tell you it does not come with a carrying case, considering this hard drive is made of plastic.
Actually you can find far better ones with faster speed, convienct usb connection, and come with all neccessary accessories, so why buy this one which only gives you trouble from time to time.

The reason why I got this item was because I needed to backup my PS3 data, since I'm upgrading the hard drive on the system. As soon as I opened it, I just plugged it in and that's all. No need to install software or anything. I was surprised at how small and light this drive is and it was nice to have something so simple to use. Perfect for what I needed it. This thing took about 30min to copy about 20G of data which, and I'll be honest, I'm not sure if its good or bad, but there you go.
