Usually im a western digital buyer but this hard disk was the end ... I got it in a very high price for no sale or discount and it died after less than 6 month with extra caring and cushions around it all the time. This was a very bad model from western digital PLUS I lost all my data which costs me around 2700$ to data recover it through a specialist company which I cant afford. I left it on the shelf as a souvenir to look at it daily with a big hope that one day I can get my info ....Digital camera Review: Basic, but does what it is supposed to

This USB connected drive is just what it's advertised as. Not a bit more. Not a bit less. For me it's been reliable. The one fault in my mind is the lack of power/activity led's. I would like ot have those though they are not strictly necessary. I do likr the rubber end cap snuggies. I bought a Seagate 1TB drive [...] and it disappeared from my computer every 15 minutes or so, and I had to reboot my computer for it to be recognized again. Seagate support could not provide a solution. Plus the Seagate ran very warm, even hot. I bought this Western Digital Elements 1 TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive WDE1UBK10000N in Black in May 2009 for 109 USD with free shipping from Amazon and it just works. I have used it every day, so far, ad it is simple, quiet, and it does not run hot. Seems like a good value.

What Can I say? This hard drive is awesome! It is slim, nice color, durable, quiet and eassssy to use. I just plugged it in and right away I was loadding this thing full of movies and music. This is probally one of the best buys I have ever found for hardrives at least up to date. You cannot beat the price and the quality of this hard drive. It is extremely quiet and does not heat up at all. I would recomend this product to all. Well worth the purchase!
