I bought four of these drives as additional volumes for four Dell PCs after reading customer reviews, some of which mentioned how quiet the drives are. It true. I could barely hear the drives operating while I was formatting them - and that's with the cover off the PC's. Gives you the perception that they're precisely designed, machined and aligned drives. Drive did not work right out of the box. Should have never used it since it caused trouble from the start and took a few tries to get it to work properly and be recognized by the hardware. Now it has failed again and I'm working through the exchange process. I bought 2, one worked, one didn't.
