Digital camera reviews of Western Digital WDXMS1200TN Passport 120 GB USB 2.0 2.5-Inch Portable Hard Drive

Digital camera Review: A solid product
Summary: 5 Stars

I have owned a number of external hard drive products and this one rates among the best. Although I have only been using this product a couple of weeks, it has performed very nicely on laptop and desktop computers with no need of an external power supply. It fits easily in my pocket.

The only issue is that it often will not eject using the eject device icon at the bottom of the screen. So, you have to turn off the computer before it allows you to eject it.

Otherwise, I am very pleased with it.

Digital camera Review: Absolutely Brillant!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Light weight, hassle free, absolutely brilliant!

No extra power cords, and very handy. Literally passport size! even carry it in my lady's bag.

Digital camera Review: After 18 months of regular use
Summary: 5 Stars

After 18 months of regular use on 4 different Toshiba laptops, unit still works like new. No power problems, no errors, likes both XP & Vista. Used primarily for disk image backup and for transferring data volumes between the computers, so relatively large size is a real advantage. Fast, quiet, very compact. Highly recommended.

Digital camera Review: Amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

Simply amazing....you can use it with both MAC and windows..and very light weight slim object....
Really good..

Digital camera Review: Amazingly portable and easy to use
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great product. Truely plug-and-play on my Windows XP laptop. No driver and extra setup required. I especially like the fact that it is solely powered by the USB port, which means no bulky transformers. The drive is the size of my spare laptop battery and is easy to carry around. The speed is decent but not particularly fast (the low power consumption limits how fast the drive can spin, but it's a worthwhile tradeoff of performance for portability IMHO).

The black plastic case looks sleek, but it has the kind of shiny surface that's easily scratched and soiled by fingerprints. So get a protective cover if you care about its looks.

One word of caution: if you ever need to reformat the drive, try to keep the FAT32 file system that it came in if you ever need to use it with non-Windows systems (say your XBox 360). In order to do so you will need to download the FAT32 format utility from the WD support site (it's free). Windows doesn't allow you to format a drive with more than 32GB into FAT32.
